Given this protection, servicers might have been predicted to prefer loan modifications to foreclosures. In fact, they have stopped at nothing to rush through foreclosures against distressed homeowners, using fraudulent affidavits of loan documents to do so. Why do you think that they prefer foreclosures to loan modifications?
